The Seeley-Swan High School girls basketball team remained undefeated in District 13-C with a victory over Lincoln last week. That victory along with a non league victory over Arlee on Friday brings the Ladyhawks record to 9-1 for the season and 5-0 in the league. The Blackhawks are ranked ninth in the state.
Senior Janelle Greenwood and junior Cascade Parcell led the Blackhawks with 13 points each in the 42-32 win over 15th ranked Arlee.
The game was tied at 13-13 at the half, but big second half performances by Parcell with six third quarter points and Greenwood with nine in the final period including two big three point shots led to the victory.
Seniors Jessica Lester and Bobbie Pierson scored seven and six points respectively and senior Anna Wood added three points in the win.
Senior Ashley Holmes led all scorers with 14 points leading the Hawks to a blowout 55-16 win over Lincoln on Thursday.
Pierson scored 10 points and Greenwood added nine points in the win. Wood scored five points, Parcell added four and Lester scored a pair.
Juniors Chelsea Cahoon and Katelyn Lewis along with sophomore Brittany Birdsbill all scored a pair.
As in earlier lopsided wins, Head Coach Shawn Holmes pulled the starters early and played his entire squad.
Freshman Miranda Dupree and Kelsey Linford scored four and two points respectively.
The Blackhawks will be on the road at Victor on Friday, January 22 but back at home on Saturday, January 23 hosting red hot, sixth ranked Hot Springs. The JV action begins at 1:00 pm followed by boys JV then boys and girls varsity games.
