Spring Elections Next Tuesday

Seeley Swan Pathfinder
April 1, 1999

Next Tuesday's April 6 election will be a congenial one, with no contests for any of the trustee positions on local districts, but voters will decide the fate of a $34,640 mill levy request by Seeley Lake Elementary.

The 7.8 mills levy request at Seeley Lake Elementary is for operations and maintenance of programs for the 1999-2000 school year.

Trustee positions will be voted on for boards at Seeley Lake Elementary, the hospital district, Seeley Rural Fire, Swan Valley School and Missoula County High School.

William M. (Rett) Parker who has been the Seeley-Swan representative on the Missoula County High School District is running for re-election for a 3-year term and he is unopposed.

There are two positions open on the Seeley Swan Medical Distrcit board. Both positions are 3-year terms and Juanita Ryan and Timothy G. Love will be on the ballot for those posts.

Jim White is the only candidate for a 3-year term on the Seeley Lake fire district board of trustees.

In addition to the levy vote, residents in the Seeley Lake Elementary school district will vote for two candidates to fill two 3-year terms on the school board. Candidates are Pamela Pitman and Vicki Jardine.

In Swan Valley, only one candidate, Gary Freyholz, has filed for trustee on the local school board, but there will be space for write-in candidates on the ballot.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
