Supporters of the arts in the Seeley Swan filled the sprawling
Emily A. Bed & Breakfast
to capacity for the annual Wine & Chocolate Social, a fund-raising event with part of the
proceeds used for an annual scholarship for a lucky Seeley-Swan High School graduate.
Patrick Holt was the auctioneer at this year's
social, replacing his father, Bill Holt, who
had served in that role in previous years.
Bob & Ruth Korn were honored as Benefactors of the Alpine
Artisans this year. The couple originally founded the Alpine
Artisans. See story about them in the January 1999 news pages.

Sixty art pieces were available at this year's Fifth Annual Wine and Chocolate Social hosted by the Alpine Artisans on Feb. 6, 1999.
Among other pieces, oil, pastels and water paintings, carvings, pottery, carpentry pieces, calligraphy, jewelry, photography, basketry and sculptures made up the selection of art work.
Pieces were on display last week at the First Valley Bank.
The proceeds from this event fund the Alpine Artisans yearly $500 scholarship awarded to a graduating Seeley Swan High School senior.
The Emily A Bed and Breakfast hosted the event from 6 to 10 p.m. The Emily A is located north of Seeley Lake at mile marker 20 on Highway 83.
This year's social included Hors d'oeuvres prepared and served by the Seeley Swan High School Spanish Club students.
And of course delicious chocolates, wine, coffee and other soft drinks were available.
Ruth and Bob Korn have been selected as the 1999 recipients of the Alpine Artisans 'ArtsBenefactor' Award, and were honored at the social.
A silent auction was followed by a live auction for the art created by the members of the Artisans guild.
Admission was $10. Advance tickets were available at the Stage Station in Seeley Lake or at Swan Valley Arts & Crafts in Condon. Tickets were also be available at the door.
