Seeley Swan Pathfinder
January 21, 1999

Patricia Swan Smith, Seeley Lake, was one of three Northwest Montana writers featured in the January-February 1999 issue of Montana Magazine, just published.

She wrote the Weekender article "Seeley-Swan, Shorelines, & Silly Celebrations."

The article covers a trip from Clearwater Junction, the Kozy Korner area, through the Seeley-Swan and on to Flathead Lake and the Polson-Bigfork area. She chose Allen and Mildred Chaffin for the profile portion of the article.

Her Montana Magazine article includes favorite local restaurants and intriguing, sometimes silly, cabin-fever-fighting festivals and events.

She has written for the Seeley-Swan Pathfinder on and off since 1989, and freelances as much as she can with her writing and photography.

Pat works full-time at the Seeley Fire Department, is the clerk for the Refuse District and said she avoids heavy thinking by volunteering for as much as she can stand at any given time.

She is a member of the Volunteer Fire Department and is also the Advisor for the Cadet firefighters. Six high school students are in that program.

She is a member of the local Family Violence Council, which is a part of the local domestic violence program called SSTEP, a member of the Alpine Artisan's, and has coached grade-school volleyball for the past six years.
