Archery course with 3-D
targets spread over 50 acres

June and Kiel Peckenpaugh show off this 3-D grizzly bear target
which was later set up on the 50-acre archery range.

The 3-D archery targets are placed in a natural setting. Here June Peckenpaugh, left, Dick Gaugher, manager of The Archery Center of Montana in Missoula where the targets were purchased, and Bob Baker, one of the course owners, are shown heading out to different locations on the course.

Kozy Korner has added an archery range near the trap range, and it is now open for business. The new 40-3D bird and animal targets are placed in a beautiful 50 acre area, and the walk gives the archer plenty of exercise as well as practice with the bow.

You'll have your choice of everything from turkey targets to cougars. It's sad to say, but the antelope buck is no longer available due to a grass fire that got away this spring.

The grand opening will be held July 31st and August 1st. Trophies will be awarded to the 10 classes of shooters, which will be designated by type of bow and age groups.

The range is open on Thursdays at 5 p.m., or daily by appointment. For more information, or to make an appointment, you may call Bob or Edie Baker at 677-2506 or 677-3328.

And, if you've never shot a bow before, or would just like to improve your shooting, both Bob and Edie are great instructors and offer one-on-one lessons.

Kozy Korner Klays & Kritters is owned by Kiel and June Peckenpaugh and Bob and Edie Baker. In addition to the archery range, there is a trap range, which is also available by appointment.

A registered trap shoot will be held July 3rd and July 4th. You may call either Bob or Edie to register for that shoot.
