James Gallea of Seeley Lake is one of five students to win a $5,000 Presidential Leadership Scholarship at The University of Montana starting fall semester.

He competed in a field of 210 qualified applicants who were judged on high school grade point average, college test scores and interviews with an eight member evaluation committee. His scholarship will be renewed annually for four years provided he maintains high academic standards.

Gallea graduated from Seeley-Swan High School with a 4.0 GPA. He plans to major in pre-med at UM.
