Local Student Awarded Dean's
Scholarship by Saint John's University

Bach (B.J.) Parker, son of William and Charlee Parker of Seeley Lake, has been awarded a four-year renewable Dean's Scholarship by Saint John's University. Parker has been admitted to begin classes at Saint John's in the fall of 1999.

The scholarship is awarded annually to high school seniors who demonstrate potential for academic and leadership excellence through their grade point average of 3.35 or higher, or through ranking in the top ten percent of their senior class. The value of Saint John's Dean's Scholarship ranges from $2,000 to $4,000 per year, with a four-year worth up to $16,000.

Saint John's University for men and the College of Saint Benedict for women are partners in liberal arts education, providing students the opportunity to benefit from the distinctions of not one, but two nationally recognized Catholic, undergraduate colleges. Together the colleges challenge students to live balanced lives of learning, work, leadership and service in a challenging world.
