New course record set for
women's division of marathon

All 136 entrants in the 20th Annual Snow Joke Half Marathon completed the event held Saturday, February 27th. This was the second highest turnout in the history of the event.

Bay Riley of Missoula set a new women's course record, running a time of 85 minutes 25 seconds on the 13.1 mile course. The old record of 85:48 was set by Susan Kaluza of Butte in 1995.

Bob Boland of Great Falls was the overall winner in a time of 75:33. Calamity Seeley of Polson posted 76:13 for second place overall in winning the 40 and older division. First woman in that division was Kathy River of Clancy in 96:43.

In the 15 and younger division, Hillary Buettner of Kalispell won for the ladies in a posting of 139:07.

Charlie Richard of Kalispell completed the course in 138:49 as a Special Olympian and was also recognized as a divisional winner.
