On February 19th, Brian Matthew, Joel Contreras, Robby Reynolds,
and Tabby Laufer represented the Swan Valley School at the regional
conference of Mathcounts held in Kalispell. Mathcounts is a national
competition program developed to encourage middle school aged
students' interest and involvement in mathematics. The top two
schools were invited to participate in the state competition in
Bozeman on March 26th.
Unfortunately, our school ranked 3rd at the competition. Tabby Laufer did, however, rank 4th individually overall and has been invited to the state contest. What an honor! We are proud of the entire team for the effort put forth in preparation and vying for honors of moving on. We also wish Tabby luck at the state level. The winning team and individuals after the Bozeman meet will move into the national arena held in May.
