Claims Life of
Kalispell Man

A 46-year-old Kalispell man died Monday evening on Highway 83 when the pickup he was driving drifted off the road on a corner and then rolled at least twice, according to Missoula County Sheriff's Deputy Scott Newell.

The man was headed north and wrecked at mile marker 25 around 4:50 p.m. He was trapped in the vehicle, and after he was extricated and checked by medical personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Newell, he died of head injuries.

Name of the victim has not been released, and the accident is still under investigation.

(Note: the accident victim was later identified as Robert F. Goltz, 46, of Kalispell).
