Saint John's University first-year BJ Parker, son of William and Charlee Parker of Seeley Lake, is a member of the 1999 football team at SJU.

Under the leadership of college coaching legend John Gagliardi, SJU has built one of the nation's top NCAA division III programs.

The team's list of accomplishments is long and impressive, as is Gagliardi's number two position on the all-time college coaching win list with over 350 career wins. Gagliardi is the winningest active coach in all of college football. Some of those highlights in recent seasons include trips to the NCAA Division III national semifinals in 1989, 1991, 1993 and 1994 and MIAC crowns five of the last seven years. The team also won NCAA scoring titles in 1993 (61.5 ppg) and 1994 (47.1 ppg). SJU has not suffered through a losing season since the Johnson Administration in 1967. In the 1990s, SJU has the 10th best winning percentage (.843) and 17th most wins (85) in all divisions of college football.

Saint John's University for men and the College of Saint Benedict for women are partners in liberal arts education, providing students the opportunity to benefit from the distinctions of not one, but two nationally recognized Catholic, residential, undergraduate institutions. Together CSB and SJU challenge students to live balanced lives of learning, work, leadership and service in a changing world.
