LDS Self Reliance
Fair at church
September 23, 1999

Seeley Lake, Montana
On September 25, 1999, the Seeley Lake Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is sponsoring a Self Reliance Fair at their church building on Redwood Lane in Seeley Lake.
The LDS Church has long held the position that personal and family emergency preparedness should be high on the list of goals to be achieved by everyone.
One does not have to look far these days for reasons to maintain a high level of emergency preparedness.
Throughout the United States and the world at large there are people suffering the ravages of natural disasters. Fire, earthquake, flood, and windstorm are all concerns, which threaten without warning the safety of those who lie in their paths.
Add to these natural disasters the more common problems of loss of employment due to injury, layoff or other economic situation and there are more than enough reasons to take steps to prepare for possible and unknown problems lying in the future. Personal and family preparedness may one day make the difference between surviving a problem situation and becoming a statistic.
The Self Reliance Fair will have exhibits on spiritual preparedness for the family, home production and food storage, gardening, economical ways to cook and prepare food without power, safe and useful ways to use herbs and natural medicines, 72 hour survival kits, literacy and education, career development, financial and resource management, and physical health.
The Fair is open to the entire community at no charge. All are invited to attend between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 1999.
