alternate for All State Band

Seeley-Swan High School is proud to announce that Danny Phipps has been accepted to play in this year's All State Band at the State Music Teachers Convention. Danny is the first student in the history of Seeley-Swan to make an All State performing group at the Convention, to be held October 21 and 22 in Billings.

The All State groups rehearse under nationally recognized conductors and perform in a gala concert Friday evening. The organizing chairperson of the convention, Dave Edwards, music supervisor in the Billings school system, reports that well over a thousand audition tapes were submitted this year.

In addition to Danny, Chris Mood received alternate status which, considering the keen competition for slots, is also quite an honor. Should a player be unable to go, Chris will take that place.
