Seeley Lake, Montana
The Fall Membership Kick Off for Cub Scouting and Boy Scouting
will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 199 at 7:00 p.m. in the
multi-purpose room at the Seeley Lake Elementary School. Boys
are being recruited for various levels in the Scouting program.
Tiger Cubs is a program for boys age six or in the first grade. Boys join with a parent and the den organizes its own activities, though it is affiliated with a Cub Scout Pack.
Cub Scouts is a program for boys age seven through ten and is a home and neighborhood centered program. Boys are organized into dens under the leadership of a den leader and they meet weekly. The dens make up a pack and meet once a month under the leadership of a Cubmaster.
Boy Scouts is a program for boys 11 through 18 and is a home, neighborhood, and outdoor program. Boys are organized into patrols under the leadership of a youth patrol leader and meet weekly during the troop meeting. The patrols make up a troop and meet under the leadership of a Scoutmaster.
Registration, insurance, and book fees will be collected at the meeting. The fees are as follows:
Tiger Cub - $9.90 + $3.00 for book = $12.90
Cub Scout - $8.40 + $5.50 for book - $13.90
Boy Scout - $8.40 + $7.95 for book = $16.35
Other costs not required but recommended include shirts ($8.00 to $27.00) and Boys Life magazine ($9.00).
A work fare program is in place which allows boys to earn money to pay for the various fees they need for scouting.
Scouting is not just a program for boys. Parents are a key ingredient for a successful program. Parents will be asked to volunteer and help with their time and talents to insure the best possible program for the boys. Come join the Scouting program for a year of interesting and fun activities.
