Seeley Swan Pathfinder
Seeley Lake, Montana
Twenty-five riders left Seeley Lake Tuesday morning on part
of the 10th annual snowmobile ride for Multiple Sclerosis. The
riders had left Eureka a couple days before and spent Sunday night
in Columbia Falls. They were treated to dinner here by the Driftriders
Monday evening and stayed the night before heading off toward
Lincoln right after this photo. The TransMontana ride covers 600
miles, ending in West Yellowstone. At left is Ron Ogden, Seeley
Driftrider president who led the group to Lincoln. Seated on the
snowcat is Dan Fargo of Great Falls; on his right is Char Caber
of Kalispell and on his left is Les Green of Bozeman. These three
riders are victims of multiple sclerosis. Immediately in back
of the sled at center are Doug Franklin, executive director of
the Montana State Snowmobile Association which sponsors the ride
and Sue Pencoske, western regional director for MSSA. At right
is Rene Jacobson who was in charge of the ride for MSSA. Last
year $16,000 was raised for the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
The goal this year is $20,000.
