Seeley Swan Pathfinder
Seeley Lake, Montana
Horseshoe Pitchers from around the state will be gathering July
21, 22 and 23 in Seeley Lake for the Twentieth Annual Seeley Lake
Horseshoe Competition.
"We're billing it the millenium horseshoe pitch and are attempting to raise $2,000 for the purse again this year," according to tournament director Don Larson.
"Seeley Lake continues to be the most popular horseshoe event in the State of Montana because of the purse, the generosity of the local business community, and the hospitality it offers," he said.
Larson also noted that Seeley Lake has been slated to host the Montana State Horseshoe Championships August 26 and 27. "This is the first time we have been selected to host the State Championships," Larson said. "This Tournament generally goes to one of the larger Montana cities such as Billings. It is truly an honor to host it."
The July pitch begins Friday evening with a singles money throw at the Filling Station. It continues Saturday with a doubles money throw and concludes Sunday with a state-sanctioned tournament at the Seeley Lake Community Park. Men, women or children who are interested in qualifying to pitch in these tournaments should contact Larson at 677-2570 or Nat Clark at 677-2977.
