Scouts dig in at a potluck celebration of the first year of the Food Bank.

The Seeley Swan Community Food Bank recently celebrated its first anniversary with a "Thank You" event sponsored by the Board for the volunteers, in appreciation of their time and dedication to working at the Food Bank. Of course, volunteers will be volunteers, and they arrived with hot dishes and assisted in cleaning up, etc. The evening was highlighted by a lovely song about friendship and lending a helping hand, sung by Terryl Bartlett. A great time was had by all!

During 1999, 465 people in our community were served by the Food Bank with 548 volunteer hours recorded. As you can see, it is the willingness of volunteers that make such a mission possible.

Karen Montgomery, one of the many faithful volunteers over the past year, has accepted a position to serve on the Board of Directors. Officers were announced for the year 2000 with Bill Bogardus as Chairperson, Bob Stefczak as Vice chair, Terryl Bartlett as Secretary, and Marty Kux and Lynn Richards as Co-Treasurers.

As you consider your regular giving, please remember that every dollar you give to our Community Food Bank will buy 14 pounds of high quality food through the Montana Food Bank Network. Our Food Bank workers know what items are needed and will order appropriately. Monetary donations are fully tax deductible, and you don't need to buy and carry items anywhere. This is a very beneficial way to give. Only through your generous and regular giving could this be such a huge success.
