Citizens and Forest Service
Cleanup in Swan Valley

May 4, 2000
Seeley Swan Pathfinder
Seeley Lake, Montana

Swan Valley citizens and Swan Lake Ranger District employees will join in an annual spring clean-up of the U.S.F.S. Condon Work Center and the adjacent highway on May 12 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The Condon Work Center, located on Hwy 83 across from the U.S.F.S. airstrip, is also headquarters for the Swan Ecosystem Center, a non-profit organization of Swan Valley citizens. In a citizen-Forest Service partnership, the Work Center and the surrounding 120 acre administrative site are jointly managed.

The Swan Ecosystem Center includes indoor and outdoor exhibits and interpretive trails focusing on the Upper Swan Valley's natural and historical features. It's staff and volunteers also provide information services and educational programs at the site. It is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. five days a week. In addition, the site includes an experimental Ponderosa Pine Site demonstration area.

The public is invited to participate in this clean-up day. Bring a lunch. Beverages will be provided by the Forest Service. It's a great opportunity to work with your local Forest Service representatives and get involved in your community!

For further information, call the Swan Ecosystem Center at 754-3137.
