The SeeleySwan YMCA Outreach Fall soccer program was a great success, with over 70 participating in the Seeley Lake program and 45 in the Swan Valley program. Once again we could not have had such a successful program with out the time, effort and support of several community members.

The children were taught basic soccer skills, and as with all YMCA programs there was an emphasis on character traits of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Games were held between Seeley and Swan players. The Seeley teams were fortunate to travel to Missoula to compete with some of their players. All of the participants and their families deserve a big round of thanks.

With the large numbers of kids we were in need of more help with coaching. Many parents came forward to meet the demand. Gary Miller, Pastor Gary Wayne, Mark Williams, Jenny Caroline, Ron Hohlman, Kari Nicholas, Pastor Bill Bogardus, Billy Kittrell, Cheryl Evans, Jill Maus, Cindy Kobylenski, Henry Meyer and Elli Wood are to be commended for their coaching and volunteer efforts. A big thank you to Gary Miller and the First Valley Bank for their help in defraying the cost of the great T-shirts. Thanks also goes to SeeleySwan High School for the use of the fields for the games and to SLE and the Community Park for your continued support and field use. Without the huge amount of work and support of Teresa Friede, Danni Parcell, this wonderful program would not be what it is. They are both a great asset to this program and our community.

Watching all these kids enjoy this game has led to interest in an adult soccer program. It's an awesome sport for conditioning and will give us an opportunity to learn more about the game. Together, as a group, we can all build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
