Seeley Swan Pathfinder
Seeley Lake, Montana
John and Gloria Wilson have opened a nationally franchised store in Seeley Lake and will be having a grand opening soon as a RadioShack® dealer, with their electronics store called Electronics, Ect.
The Wilsons moved here three and a half years ago from Florida after looking all over Montana for a place to locate. John grew up in Helena and attended high school there.
"I always wanted to come back to Montana after retiring," he said. "Seeley Lake looked like a nice place that would be growing." He also remembered Seeley Lake from his high school days when he used to hunt here.
Following service in the Air Force and college in Utah, John began his electronics career with the Bell Companies installing telephone switching equipment.
From Mountain Bell he moved to Westinghouse for 17 years where Gloria worked in accounting. She is originally from Ohio.
John said RadioShack® has 7,900 stories world-wide and that around 1,900 of those stores are franchise operations, with the rest being company stores. Regular prices here, he said, will be the same as in Missoula stores, so there's no money to be saved by driving.
John said the store, located in the Bison & Bear Trading Center will carry 1,800 items, about half what a company-owned store does, but he can order items overnight or within four to seven days. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays, and closed on Mondays.
