Seeley Lake resident Sheila Devins presented an exhibit at the Capitol Rotunda in Helena on Tuesday, March 6, 2001. The exhibit included a walk inside a child's brain (constructed by Sheila and her colleagues) and information about early brain development and the need to support programs that foster early brain development of children in Montana.

The exhibit, developed by Missoula child care providers and Headstart teachers enrolled in early childhood education classes through Western Montana College of the University of Montana, was in conjunction with "Headstart Day at the Legislature." The purpose of the day was to familiarize parents and others with the legislative process and to familiarize legislators with the importance of early childhood education and early brain development. Governor Judy Martz was in attendance along with Gail Gordon, Office of Public Instruction, and a variety of state representatives and senators.
