Seeley Swan Pathfinder
Seeley Lake, Montana
Northwest Connections has two upcoming courses on grizzly bears. A one day class providing an overview of grizzly bear conservation will be offered on May 12th. The course is free to residents of the Seeley-Swan and costs $75 for all others. The focus of this one day workshop is to provide residents and interested citizens with information on how to identify bears and bear sign by species, to provide an update on current research and monitoring projects, and to provide information on how to avoid human-bear conflicts.
June 10 - 17 the course 'BEAR GROUND' is offered and can be taken for 2 credits through the University of Montana (WBIO 395). The course is residential with students staying in Condon and spending all day every day in the field investigating bear sign and assisting with bear monitoring efforts. $550 covers the cost of tuition, credit, lodging, food and transportation for the week.
To register for one of these courses or to obtain information on other Northwest Connections educational programs call (406) 754-3185 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
