Holds Public Meeting on Streams and Rivers

A public meeting to learn about the permitting process and regulations concerning projects on streams and rivers in the Upper Swan Valley will be held by the Swan Citizens ad hoc Committee on Thursday, Janaury 25 in Condon.
Discussion of an earlier project undertaken on the Swan River at Salmon Prairie will be part of the meeting agenda.
Representatives of the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks, and Water Consulting Inc., the contractor on the Salmon Prairie project, will be present to describe their roles in stream and river developments.
The possibilities and possible consequences of activities on streams and rivers will be considered. Landowners who front streams or the Swan River in the Upper Swan Valley are urged to attend the informational meeting.
The program will be held at the Swan Valley Community Hall between 7:00 and 9:15 p.m. Participants are asked to arrive by 6:45 p.m.
The Swan Citizens ad hoc Committee is an informal group of Upper Swan Valley residents with a full diversity of points of view dedicated to the enhancement of the way of life and environment of the Upper Swan.
