Sportsman's Club Seeks
Membership Dues,
State Lease keeps going up!

The Wilderness Sportsman's Club is seeking members to pay their dues for this year for the shooting range, which is located on land leased from the state.

The state reviews the lease each five years to reappraise the rate. Originally, 40 acres was leased. Five years ago they reappraised the rate and raised it beyond the Club's ability to pay, so the leased area was reduced to 15 acres. This year, the state raised the rate from $840 to $2750, but said since the Club was only actually using five acres, the rate would be $916 per year for that five acres. The Club is seeking new members, as they may not be able to afford the next reappraisal. Non-member friends who use the range or enjoy shooting are encouraged to join the Club. Membership applications are available on request.

Two meetings are scheduled for this spring, which will be held at the Pyramid Mountain Lumber Company office at 7:00 p.m. on April 2nd and April 16th, 2001. On the 2nd, officers will be nominated and on the 16th, elections will be held. No other business is scheduled, but any Club business or member concerns may be brought up at either meeting.
