Seeley Lake, Montana

May is here - which means loons are being spotted on our chain of lakes and the Alpine Artisans' Loon & Fish Festival is coming soon. This year's annual two-day event takes place Saturday and Sunday, May 26th and 27th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Community Hall.
There will be artwork for sale throughout the day, as well as demonstrations by local artists, and a Childrens' Activities corner with Donna Love.
'Birders' can join a guided bird walk at the Seeley Lake Ranger Station and a scope will be set up for loon viewing. Lynn Kelly ( Montana's official "loon lady") will give a talk Saturday evening at the Ranger Station on loon behavior and give the latest report of sightings in our area.
For a second year, Bob Korn, of Condon is donating one hundred hand-thrown pottery bowls to benefit the Food Bank, and soup donated by local restaurants, will be sold in these bowls on Saturday at lunch time.
This year's T shirt, designed by Bob Korn, is currently on sale at The Stage Station, Grizzly Claw, and Seeley Lake Pharmacy. The main raffle item (a round quilt made by Valerie Allred ) is on display at Deer Country Quilt Shop, and raffle tickets are available there and the Seeley Lake Liquor Store, or from Alpine Artisan members.
A detailed schedule of events will appear in The Pathfinder the week of the Festival.
