The Blackfoot River Recreation Steering Committee (RecSteerCom), a citizens advisory group, will hold public meetings to discuss their current and future work, and the recommendations that have been made to the managing agencies. The meetings will be held May 10 at Fish, Wildlife and Parks, 3201 Spurgin Road, in Missoula and May 16 at the Ovando School Gymnasium. Both meetings will begin at 7:00 p.m. and end by 8:30 p.m.

The meetings are to inform the public about the recommendations the committee has made regarding river access, facilities and commercial use of the Blackfoot River.

The RecSteerCom, comprised of commercial outfitters, landowners and recreationists, was established in 1999 as part of the "Blackfoot River Management Direction." The committee was provided technical direction by representatives from FWP, Bureau of Land Management, Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, and the Helena and Lolo National Forests.
