An ambitious art installation is about to begin at Seeley Lake Elementary! With funding through the Claiborne/Ortenberg Foundation, a mural of "The Natural Beauty of our Home, Seeley Swan Valley" will be created by the Seeley Lake Elementary School students. The concept for the mural was collaboratively designed by local artists Jeanne Moon, Rick and Feather Sherman, and Cindy Torok, along with grant coordinators Kathy Davis and Dan White.
Beginning April 27th, Rick and Feather Sherman will be instructing classes and assisting students in grades one through eight in their depiction of "Natural Beauty" including animals, birds, fish, insects, trees, flowers and landscapes. Over twenty five additional community members, artists, parents, grandparents, seniors and neighbors will also be involved in assisting students as they create this public art installation.
Upon completion, the mural will be installed on the front of the new gym, along the foundation. Keep your eyes open, and watch for art in bloom this spring!
