District Ranger Chuck Harris has announced "The Condon House," at the Condon Work Center, Condon, MT will be available to the public as an overnight recreation opportunity beginning January 7, 1999. The rental will be available yearlong. The rental fee will be fifty dollars ($50.00) per night. There is a seven night limit and six person capacity. The dwelling is a fairly modern full service, three bedroom house with heat and running water, and with a large kitchen area, living room, and bathroom. Furnishings and basic kitchen utensils and dishes are provided. Winter vehicle access is available via the plowed loop road. No pets or livestock are allowed for public safety and health reasons.

Reservations may be made immediately by calling Dan Schraeder at the Swan Lake Ranger District office at (406) 837-7500.

This addition to the popular program brings the total to nine cabins or lookouts available for public rental on the forest. Forest Service cabins and lookouts have been rented to the recreating public for the last 17 years. The popularity of the program has grown each year. For many of the cabins, reservations are needed well in advance to secure the dates wanted. For information or reservations on the other cabins on the Flathead: Schnaus, Rover, Zips, Challenge, Ninko, Ford, or Hornet Lookout, you can call (406) 387-3800.
