Seeley Swan Pathfinder
March 12, 1998
The new gate at the Seeley Lake Cemetery is a work of art as well as
being functional. It serves as both a drive-in gate and a walk-in gate.
The drive-in gate will be open as needed for services, special days etc.
The walk-in gate will never be locked. Cars may presently be parked in front
of the gate when using the walk-in gate. When frost goes out of the ground,
an electric line will be dug to connect the two lamps on the gate. The present
plan is to have the lights on the gate and on the flagpole go on automatically
at dark. The local artist/welder who built the gate is Tom Hassett. As a
special favor to the Cemetery Board as it seeks to establish the new cemetery,
Hassett provided materials and workmanship for under $2000.00. The Board
is very grateful for this encouraging participation. With the fence and
gate in place, landscape work will be top priority this summer. G. Noland
