state Greco Championships

This past weekend the Seeley Lake Wrestling Club competed in the USAW State Greco Championship in Great Falls. In Greco wrestling, it's all upper body wrestling. No legs are used. This is a harder type of wrestling and not as many kids compete in it. Usually just the tougher kids. Ten kids made the trip. I would like to have seen more, but I'm proud of the ones who did make it. It was a good experience for them to wrestle a different style. The team did well, bringing home five medals.

Josh Peterson won the Midget 105 pound State championship title, and Cody Hard won the Schoolboy 115 pound State Championship title. Also medaling were Phillip Parker capturing the Silver, and Colton Dunlap and Joe Moderie, taking the bronze.

The team will be wrestling at two tournaments next weekend, Ronan on Saturday and Kalispell on Sunday.
