New Seeley Lake Trail System attracts Nordic Skiers

The Snow is Best in the Seeley Swan

Nordic (cross country) skiing is a popular and growing winter sport in the Seeley Swan communities that are blessed with an abundance of snowfall. For years families and individuals have ventured onto roads and snowmobile trails, but Seeley Lake has its own Nordic Ski Trails where no motorized vehicles are permitted. Maintained by the Seeley Lake Nordic Ski Club, the 32 km trail system offers groomed trails of varying difficulty. The trail system is one of the most popular in Northwest Montana and hosts many events by local and Missoula ski clubs. The annual OSCR (Over Seeley's Creeks & Ridges) Nordic Races are held at the trail system located at the north edge of town and one mile east of Highway 83 on Cottonwood Lakes Road at the junction of Morrell Creek Road. And in recent years the trails have been the course for the Seeley Lake Challenge Biathlon.
